Jurnal Surya Masyarakat (JSM), published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat), Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, establishes the following authorship criteria to ensure transparency, accountability, and academic integrity in community service publications.
1. Authorship Eligibility
All authors must meet the following four criteria:
-
Make substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data related to community service activities.
-
Draft the manuscript or critically revise it for important intellectual content.
-
Review and approve the final version of the manuscript.
-
Agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
All four criteria must be fulfilled. Individuals who do not qualify for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
2. Author Contribution Statement
All authors must declare their individual contributions in the "KONTRIBUSI PENULIS" section of the Indonesian manuscript template or the "AUTHOR CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT" section of the English manuscript template.
Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, program implementation, data collection, analysis, evaluation, and manuscript preparation.
Administrative positions, funding, or general supervision alone do not justify authorship.
3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author must ensure that all authors meet the authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, and agree on the authorship order. The corresponding author also serves as the primary contact with the editorial team.
4. Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must include a written explanation and agreement from all affected authors and require editorial approval.
5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Authorship
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authors remain responsible for all AI-assisted content and must disclose AI use in accordance with the journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.
