Effective date: This workflow applies to manuscripts processed for issues published in November 2026 and subsequent issues.
Jurnal Statistika Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang follows the editorial workflow below to ensure that submitted manuscripts are assessed fairly, reviewed by qualified experts, and prepared carefully for publication.
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. The editorial office checks whether the submission is complete and whether the manuscript files and required information have been provided.
2. Editorial Screening
The editorial team conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with the Author Guidelines, completeness, and suitability for peer review. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements may be returned to the authors or declined before external review.
3. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-anonymous peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers. A third reviewer may be invited when additional expertise or clarification is needed. Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific contribution, methods, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
4. Editorial Decision
The editor considers the reviewers’ reports and makes the editorial decision. The decision may be acceptance, a request for revision, or rejection. When revision is requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript and a response explaining how they addressed the reviewers’ comments. The revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation.
5. Production Process
After acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to proofreading and layout preparation. The journal checks the article’s presentation and prepares the final typeset version in accordance with the journal’s publication format.
6. Finalization
The final proof and publication files are prepared for approval by the Editor-in-Chief. Any required corrections are checked before the article is released for publication.
7. Publication and Distribution
Approved articles are published online on the Jurnal Statistika Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang website and made available to readers.
