3. Appointments
The Editor-in-Chief is appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, for a renewable term. Section editors and editorial board members are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief based on scholarly expertise, research track record in dentistry, and commitment to the peer-review process. The composition of the editorial board is periodically reviewed to ensure active participation, gender balance, and geographical/institutional diversity. All editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest annually.
4. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions rest exclusively with the editors and are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the field of dentistry, and peer review results. The university administration, faculty leaders, external partners (such as PDGI), and advertisers exert no influence over decisions regarding any manuscript. Submissions from authors affiliated with Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang receive no preferential treatment and undergo the standard double-blind peer review process. The journal monitors the proportion of internal submissions to ensure diverse author representation across different national and international institutions.
5. Finance
The journal is supported by Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. To support open-access publishing and production costs, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 750,000 is applied only after a manuscript is formally accepted for publication (submission is free of charge). A waiver policy is available for authors demonstrating financial limitations. Editorial decisions are made strictly independent of APC payment status. The journal does not host commercial advertising or publish sponsored content.
