Journal Business Model

1. Introduction

The Journal of Intelligent Computing and Health Informatics (JICHI) is a non-commercial, academic, open-access journal managed by Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. JICHI is committed to providing unrestricted access to scholarly work in intelligent computing and health informatics, promoting global collaboration and inclusive scientific communication.

All readers can access articles free of charge. To sustain this open-access model and support the costs of editorial management, peer review, digital production, website hosting, and long-term archiving, JICHI applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to accepted manuscripts.

2. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Effective from April 1, 2024, the following APC rates apply to manuscripts accepted for publication:

  • Indonesian author(s) only: IDR 500,000 per article
  • Collaboration between Indonesian and international author(s): IDR 250,000 per article
  • International author(s) only: Free (no APC applied)

Note: APC payments are non-refundable once processed, except in cases of editorial error or withdrawal before publication due to journal decision.

3. Article Submission Charges (ASC)

There are no submission fees

4. Waiver or Discount Policy

To promote equity and global participation, JICHI offers the following APC waivers or discounts:

  • Authors from low-income countries: Full APC waiver (USD 0)
  • Corresponding author with a Scopus or WoS h-index ≥ 15: Full APC waiver
  • Active JICHI reviewers: APC discount of IDR 250,000 for each completed peer review

5. Additional Information

The journal is audited and monitored by the Division of Publication and Journal Management (DPPJ) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. This oversight ensures accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in scientific publishing quality.
