Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of problem-based learning-based science modules with local wisdom in improving the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This research uses research and development method with ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The data analysis technique used is quantitative analysis by conducting validity tests, practicality tests and effectiveness tests. Based on the results of the study, the validity test results obtained a percentage of 90.78% with very valid criteria. The practicality of the science module obtained a percentage of 80.36% in the readability test and 80.42% in the large class test with practical criteria. The effectiveness of the science module in improving students' critical thinking skills obtained an n-gain score of 0.60 with moderate criteria. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning-based science module with local wisdom content developed is suitable for use in learning because it has met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. Therefore, the science module based on problem-based learning with local wisdom can be used as teaching materials and learning resources for students in the learning process.
