Jurnal Pendidikan Sains Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang(p-ISSN:2339-0786, e-ISSN:2502-1443 ) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Program studi Pendidikan Kimia, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. This Journal was first registered p-ISSN:2339-0786 in 2013. Whereas in 2015 Jurnal Pendidikan Sains (JPS) was registered on e-ISSN:2502-1443. There is a change in the article writing template. It began from volume 9 number 1 2021, Jurnal Pendidikan Sains (JPS) just receive article in english. Jurnal Pendidikan Sains (JPS) is published twice a year, namely in march and october.

This journal publishes original research articles and comprehensive literature reviews addressing contemporary issues in science education, including chemistry education, physics education, and biology education. The journal aims to serve as a significant scholarly platform for advancing the principles and practices of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in response to complex global challenges related to environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
(1) integration of ESD principles in science education curricula and instruction;
(2) development of sustainability literacy and science literacy;
(3) contextual and issue-based learning grounded in environmental and socio-scientific problems;
(4) ESD-oriented learning models, pedagogical approaches, and instructional strategies;
(5) development of ESD-related competencies within science education;
(6) assessment and evaluation of sustainability-oriented science learning outcomes;
(7) utilization of educational technology and digital media to support ESD; and
(8) teacher professional development and policy studies related to sustainable science education.

The Journal Pendidikan Sains (JPS) is accredited Sinta 3 as written in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology No. 79/E/KPT/2023.

Special Call for Papers 2026

 

The journal invites manuscript submissions under a Special Call for Papers 2026 with preferential publication terms. For manuscripts meeting the specified criteria, authors are required to pay a reduced Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 300,000.
