Focus and Scope

Applied Research on English Education (AREE) journal is a biannual journal published by the English Education Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang.

AREE Journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to enhancing and disseminating scholarly work in English Language and Education. The journal publishes research-based articles in the fields of English Language Teaching, Technology Enhanced Language Learning, discourse analysis, and applied research on education. 
This Journal is already a registered Crossref member and has a unique DOI number. This journal is published by the English Education Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, published twice a year in January and July.

Peer Review Process

Authors should receive acknowledgment of receipt of their articles after three weeks of submission. If the article passes the Editorial initial screening, the article without author's details is sent to two anonymous reviewers (double-blind peer review), and the process takes about three to four months. Articles accepted with minor or major revisions should be revised as the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. It normally takes about 1 month until 8 months from submission to publication, with an average of 6 months.

Linguistically weak manuscripts will immediately be rejected (e.g., when the language is inadequate that one cannot be understand of what the authors mean). The authors should pay attention to this matter before submitting their manuscripts, it will assist the review process and publication if they are acceptable.

Publication Frequency

AREE is published by the English Education Department, Faculty of Education Sciences and Humanities, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. Published 2 (two) times in 1 year in January and July. All published articles are available online.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
