The Investigation of Behavior and Attitude on Facebook Usage in English for Communication Course and the Students’ Needs for Speaking Tasks

Abstract


The purposes of this study, aim to investigate the needs on speaking tasks of Thai Undergraduate by non-English major freshmen students from Udon Thani Rajabhat University and to find out the behavior of using Facebook in the course of English for Communication at Udon Thani Rajabhat University. Forty-two participants will be purposively selected from Udon Thani Rajabhat University in semester 2/2017. In research methodology, the questionnaire survey and focus-group interview (a semi-structured interview) were used in this study. The results showed that the participants were highly satisfied for using Facebook to do the speaking tasks. However, they didn’t spend much about practice hour and prepare for the conversational videos. Furthermore, five teachers of English will be interviewed for sharing the problems and needs in English for communication teaching
