Abstract


This study investigates the impact of basis sector Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on labor absorption in West Lombok Regency from 2013 to 2024. Employing a quantitative descriptive methodology, the research utilizes Location Quotient (LQ), Shift-Share analysis, and simple linear regression processed via SPSS. Data were secondary, collected from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and other credible records. Findings reveal that various economic sectors in West Lombok function as basis sectors, characterized by comparative advantages and substantial contributions to regional growth. Shift-share results highlight sectors with rapid growth and locational superiority relative to provincial benchmarks. Moreover, regression analysis confirms that basis sector GRDP exerts a positive and significant influence on employment. This suggests that expanding lead sectors effectively stimulates economic activity and broadens job opportunities. Ultimately, prioritizing the development of basis sectors is crucial for fostering regional economic progress and enhancing labor absorption in West Lombok Regency.
