MECHANICAL STRENGTH ANALYSIS OF COPPER MATERIAL AND BRASS MATERIAL ON FISHING VESSEL PROPELLER

Abstract
Starting from events that often have an impact on reducing the age of ships as well as cases of fishermen who often replace damaged ship propellers caused by corrosion. Corrosion that occurs in the propeller shaft of the ship results in material damage. Therefore, the author wants to update the ship's propeller by using copper material compared to brass so that a stronger material is used as a propeller. The results of the research on testing copper and brass show a test analysis. The results of the stress and strain tests on brass and copper materials yield almost the same results. With the same material quality, brass material is recommended to be used as a propeller because the price is cheaper compared to copper material.
