Abstract


Chili farming requires technical guidance to enhance its productivity, as it is highly susceptible to pest attacks and damage, which can significantly reduce production yields. Technical guidance, or bimbingan teknis (bimtek), is an extension activity based on research conducted by the Balai Besar Penerapan Standar Instrumen Pertanian (BBPSIP) in Bogor, aimed at chili farmers in Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi. The goal is to provide knowledge that farmers can adopt and apply in their farming practices to improve harvest outcomes. This study aims to (1) analyze the level of chili technology adoption among millennial farmers participating in technical guidance, (2) identify the factors influencing chili technology adoption among millennial farmers in the program, and (3) examine the impact of these factors on technology adoption. The research employs a quantitative method, with data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The factors affecting adoption are categorized into internal and external factors. Internal factors include formal education, non-formal education, farming experience, and land size, while external factors consist of technical guidance, information sources, and innovation characteristics. The results show that (1) the level of chili technology adoption among millennial farmers in the program is very high, (2) adoption is strongly influenced by both internal and external factors, and (3) the impact of these factors is significant, demonstrating the effectiveness of the technical guidance provided by BBPSIP in enhancing technology adoption among participating farmers.
