Empowering MSME Performance Through Fintech and E-Commerce: The Moderating Role of Cashless Society

Abstract


This study examines the impact of integrating fintech payment and e-commerce on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the moderating role of cashless society. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 102 respondents who are MSME actors in Central Java. The analysis results show that fintech payment has a positive and significant effect (p-value 0.030), while e-commerce dose not show a significant effect (p-value 0.839). The cashless society acts as a positive mediator in the relationship between fintech payment and MSME performance (p-value 0.098), but dose not mediate the relationship between e-commerce and MSME performance (p-value 0.129). These findings emphasize the impotance of adopting fintech payment in enhancing MSME performance and the need for educational and digital mentoring programs to enable MSMEs to adapt and thrive in the cashless society era. This study provides insights into the challenges and opportunities for MSMEs in effectively utilizing financial technology and e-commerce.
