Abstract
This paper examines how translators rendered utterances that flout or violate conversational maxims in "Boss Baby 1," focusing on the power dynamics between the authoritative baby and other characters. The qualitative-descriptive research uses triangulation methods for data collection and source selection, ensuring trustworthiness. Through domain, taxonomy, componential, and cultural-theme analysis, the study finds that the main character most frequently violates maxims to show his traits. The translator employs techniques like established equivalence, implicitation, and paraphrase, ensuring the translation is accurate, acceptable, and readable. Meanwhile, reduction technique decreases all translation quality aspects.
